Tyson Fury has announced a bizarre plan to be elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in 2030.

The two-time world heavyweight champion retired from professional boxing after beating Dillian Whyte in April and the ‘Gypsy King’ appears to have his eye on a new career in politics.

Speaking at the opening of his new restaurant, the Sultan of Lancaster Experience, Fury urged fans to vote for him in a future election.

“I want to say thank you to everyone who turned up today,” said Fury.

“Don’t forget to vote for me in 2030 as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom – vote Fury.

“[Sultan’s] is now officially open to everybody.”

It is not the first time Fury has expressed a desire to move into politics after his career in boxing.

Back in 2015, Fury revealed he had ambitions to become the next MP for his local constituency of Morecambe and Lunesdale in Lancashire.

“I want to make a change for the better for the place I live,” he said.

“I am running in the next election for the Mayor of Manchester, because these politicians are absolutely useless and I think I can do a better job,” said Fury, suspiciously making the announcement on April 1.

“So keep listening, keep your eyes peeled and you’ll see me very shortly, up there in the elections in 2024.

“I’m sure I can do a better job than the so-called politicians of today.”

Fury is known for making outlandish claims and his latest comments are likely to raise a few eyebrows.

It is not just his political comments that have drawn scepticism, with many fans also doubting that the heavyweight is fully retired from professional boxing.

Many believe Fury will look to take on the winner of Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, which takes place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia next month.

Whatever his next move is, it’s unlikely you’ll see him in the House of Commons any time soon.
