Zlatan Ibrahimovic has joked that he would offer Rafael Leao his house in order to convince the winger to sign a new deal with AC Milan.
Leao has been the subject of interest from several Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The 23-year-old is his side’s top scorer this season, managing eight goals and six assists in Serie A.
And former Barcelona and Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is so desperate for Leao to remain at AC Milan that he has joked he’d give up his house if it meant the Leao would stay.
Ibrahimovic: “Does he also want my house?”
Ibrahimovic claimed, tongue-in-cheek, that he had to take such a hefty pay cut to fund Leao’s new deal that he was playing for free.
The Swede told DAZN: “I lowered my salary for him, I’m playing for free,” Ibrahimovic smirked. “Does he also want my house?”
Leao’s contract expires in the summer of 2024. But Milan are thought to be struggling to reach an agreement with the Portugal international.
He currently has a release clause of £130million. But Liverpool have allegedly found a way around his eye-watering price tag.
Diaz and Leao swap deal?
Italian publication Calciomercato has linked Leao with a move to Anfield, in a deal which would see Diaz head in the opposite direction.
The report stated Leao is “ever closer” to leaving Milan, with a whole host of clubs waiting to battle it out for his signature.
Whilst contract talks are said to be “negative”, meaning Milan could “listen to offers” for the Portugal international in an attempt to avoid losing the winger for free next summer.
Diaz only joined the reds in 2019, but Klopp is said to “like” Leao, paving the way for a “sensational exchange” between the two sides
However, Calciomercato also claimed the Italian giants would prefer a “cash-only proposal” rather than a swap deal.
