neymar-urged-to-leave-psg-and-sign-for-‘perfect-club’-abroad-in-summer-transfer-window

Brazil star Neymar has been told he should leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window and sign for the ‘perfect club’ abroad.

That is according to Brazil legend Rivaldo, who believes that PSG could potentially sell his fellow countryman in a bid to “compensate [on] their investment.”

Neymar, who is under contract with PSG until 2025, arrived in the French capital in 2017 after completing his world-record £200m transfer from Barcelona.

The 30-year-old Brazilian superstar has scored an impressive 115 times and registered 73 assists in 167 appearances for the Ligue 1 club.

And Neymar has lifted four Ligue 1 titles and two French League Cups with PSG, along with leading his side to their first Champions League final in 2020.

However, the former Barcelona and Santos winger’s future at PSG has been cast in doubt in recent weeks amid the club’s reported desire to cash in on his transfer value.

Rivaldo believes PSG’s willingness to sell the Brazil international “could open Premier League doors” for him, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle all linked.

The 1999 Ballon d’Or winner insisted that City would be the “perfect club” for Neymar and that the PSG forward would thrive under ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.

Speaking in his column for Betfair, Rivaldo said: “Honestly, I don’t see it happening in this transfer window.

“But that might change at the end of the season with PSG having the chance to sell him to compensate their investment and that could open Premier League doors to Neymar.”

He added: “I believe Man City would be the perfect club for him because it will give him a better chance of success.

“And he’d be playing in a very attacking team that plays great football under Pep Guardiola.”
