Neymar has called modern football ‘boring’ after being booked for celebrating in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 win over Maccabi Haifa.

The Brazil winger scored PSG’s third goal in their Champions League Group H clash on Wednesday evening and decided to bust out his trademark celebration.

Referee Daniel Siebert didn’t see the funny side and booked Neymar for his actions, something he protested against to no avail.

The 30-year-old slammed the decision in his post-match interview and had a few words on the current state of football.

“What happened to me today is very sad. Football is getting boring and we can’t celebrate.

“This is a lack of respect not only for me, but for football.”

Neymar continued his tirade on social media, posting a lengthy message to his Twitter page.

The former Barcelona man claimed: “Total lack of respect for the athlete. This kind of thing can’t happen.

“I take the yellow for simply not having done anything and I continue to be harmed. And the judge? Not even to say he was wrong, he will! A lot of lack of respect.”

It’s no secret the French giants are obsessed with winning the Champions League and Neymar, along with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, will be key to that.
