Manchester United fans have been saying the same thing about their players after Michael Olise’s stunning free-kick earned Crystal Palace a point right at the death.
United headed into the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park in fine form after a run of nine straight victories.
Erik ten Hag’s men were on course to make it 10 in a row after Bruno Fernandes finished off a fine team move to put the Red Devils 1-0 up just before the half-time interval.
In the second half, United continued to push for another goal in order to seal all three points. However, things did not go their way.
To make matters worse, Palace managed to deny United the victory in added time.
Second-half substitute Jeffrey Schlupp was fouled by Luke Shaw on the edge of the penalty area and Olise stepped up to fire a spectacular effort into the back of the net.
Ten Hag was left stunned as he looked on from the technical area.
United fans have been expressing their discontent over the wall David de Gea had set up before the free-kick.
One fan said: “That wall with 3 shortest players was ridiculous. I was thinking Olise might hit there and he did.”
Another tweeted: “The short wall though. Would have stuck Rashford in there instead of Fred tbh and it was so clear Olise was going for goal.”
A third fan added: “Casimero shifted Fred and swapped places in the wall. That 4-5 inch height difference invited the shot where it went. Thought it was an odd choice at the time given the angles but bravo Olise!”
Someone else wrote: “Saw the Olise free kick again, y tf is Fred in the middle of the wall.”
Whilst former United defender Gary Neville agreed, he tweeted: “That wall was never big enough. Always going to shoot!”
