Liverpool’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe may be forced to come to an end as the club appear to target other positions in the transfer window.
Nunez signed for the Reds in the summer from Benfica and has managed to score five goals in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool made their worst start to a league season in 10 years with a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal earlier this year and many have put it down to a lack of investment in their midfield.
Klopp: You were all right I was wrong
The Athletic have reported Liverpool’s interest in Mbappe, however, their latest update states that Klopp will look to invest in their midfield.
Before the season began in August, Klopp had said his side did not need to bring in an additional midfielder.
By the end of the month, he had changed his mind: “I know we have had this discussion since it all started and I am the one who said we don’t need a midfielder and you were all right and I was wrong,” he told the press.
“That’s the situation. There is really nothing more to say about it. We are looking for it, and if it is the right player we need him and if it is not the right player we don’t need him.”
