YouTuber KSI is taking on two boxers in the first ever ‘Misfits Boxing’ event at the O2 Arena this Saturday.
The number-one artist, also known as JJ Olatunji, set up the influencer boxing company alongside promoter Kalle Sauerland and Mams Taylor to help ‘clean up’ the YouTube boxing scene.
“It is awesome to see all of these YouTubers come together for the first-ever Misfits event. It was all about making sure everyone wins and everyone is included.
“The YouTube boxing scene has been growing bigger and bigger – it started with Joe Weller and Theo Baker, it led to me fighting Logan Paul. He’s done his thing with Mayweather and Jake Paul’s done his thing, but we (with Kalle Sutherland/Mams Taylor) had to clean it up and we have done that.
“This event is going to be the first of many. We are going to do more events in September, October, and maybe December.
“We’re gonna see knockouts. The whole card is stacked, we have an amazing undercard. With my fights as well, you’re going to want to see every minute of this event.”
Pineda made his pro debut in 2017. After losing his first bout, Pineda won two in a row. The fighter from Mexico has since lost his last four.
KSI will only fight the Mexican if cleared by Doctors after his bout with Swarmz, who he collaborated with on his 2020 single, ‘Houdini’.
What time is KSI fighting?
The event will be available to watch on DAZN via PPV, and the streaming company has confirmed that it will be starting at 7pm UK time this Saturday.
With that in mind, we know that KSI will be fighting Swarmz on the opening bout of the night, which will be estimated to begin at around 7:30pm.
In terms of the main event against Pineda, which KSI is also expected to be featured on, the 29-year-old will take to the stage between 10-11pm estimated in the evening depending on the duration of the other bouts on the undercard.
