Cody Gakpo says he would consider joining Manchester United if they made a fresh approach for him in the January transfer window.
Gakpo looks likely to leave PSV Eindhoven next month after attracting interest from several top Premier League clubs.
The 23-year-old has become one of the most in-demand players in European football after impressing for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar.
Gakpo has scored three times so far in the tournament, helping the Dutch reach the quarter-finals where they will face Argentina.
Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be interested in Gakpo, who has scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists for PSV this season, while Leeds United already tried to sign the forward in the summer window.
Gakpo: I will think about it
Gakpo says he would consider joining United if they attempted to sign him in January, but he is taking nothing for granted.
“What comes, will come,” he told Dutch outlet NRC.
“Suppose you want to go from RKC to PSV, but that club doesn’t come. Then you can panic. I thought about Manchester United, but when that didn’t happen, I didn’t know anymore.
“And I started having doubts. Leeds United did come. Should I go there? Now I wait and see everything.
“I haven’t heard from Manchester United yet. If they come, I will think about it. In these decisions too, I seek God’s help. I ask him what I can do best.”
Football Insider claim United have already agreed a deal in principle with Gakpo over a potential January move.
But it remains to be seen whether United will stump up the cash needed to sign the winger from PSV.
Foot Mercato claim the Dutch club have increased their asking price for the winger to €60m (£51.6m) based on his current form at the World Cup.
This figure could rise even further if he continues to impress in Qatar.
