Barcelona veteran Gerard Pique could be made to walk out at Camp Nou wearing a shirt with his ex, Shakira’s name on it.
According to reports in Spain, Shakira could be the next in line to benefit from Barcelona’s sponsorship with the music streaming platform, Spotify.
The Camp Nou club wore the OVO owl logo on their shirts for Sunday’s El Clasico clash with Real Madrid.
OVO is a clothing brand founded by popular Canadian rapper Drake, after he recently made history by becoming the first artist to reach 50 billion streams.

According to journalist Moises Llorens, who is based in Barcelona, a deal is close to being done which will see Shakira feature on the Barcelona shirt. Llorens’ claim has since been echoed by a number of Spanish and South American news outlets.
Spanish news website El Espanol reported: “Barcelona is planning the ‘reunion’ of Gerard Pique with Shakira.”
However, despite all the reports, there have been no official comments from either Shakira or Barcelona regarding this issue.
Since the news broke that Pique and Shakira have spilt, the Barcelona defender has been on the end of targeted chants by fans during matches.
Majorca played one of Shakira’s songs over a loudspeaker when Pique and his Barcelona teammates were warming up ahead of a match, which sparked a chorus of laughter from the home supporters.

On the pitch, it has been a difficult start to the season for Pique as he now finds himself much further down manager Xavi’s pecking order than he would have liked.
Pique played in Barcelona’s 3-3 draw with Inter Milan in the Champions League last week, however, it was a night to forget as he was scrutinised for his defending throughout the match. As a result of the draw, Barcelona’s hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 are now hanging by a very thin thread.
