Leandro Trossard will reportedly become Arsenal’s ninth highest-paid player when he completes his transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion in the coming days.
The 28-year-old’s agent recently confirmed he was looking to leave the Seagulls after a falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Premier League leaders Arsenal, who lost out on long-term target Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea last weekend, have acted to strengthen their squad.
The Gunners have agreed a £21 million fee with Brighton for Trossard, who turned down approaches from other clubs. He’s expected to undergo a medical later on Friday before putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
In terms of salary, the Belgium international will earn around £90,000-per-week according to the Daily Mail. Over the last few years, Arsenal have overhauled their squad under manager Mikel Arteta.
The north London outfit managed to shift players on lucrative contracts to create a new culture around the Emirates Stadium.
It’s something that’s worked, with Arsenal’s only Premier League defeat this season coming to Manchester United back in September.
Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived from Manchester City over the summer and are two of the top three earners on £275,000-per-week and £150,000-per-week. Thomas Partey splits the pair up, pocketing £200,000-per-week.
