chelsea-‘lining-up-frankfurt-boss-oliver-glasner’-as-pressure-mounts-on-graham-potter

Chelsea are reportedly lining up Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner as the pressure continues to mount on current boss Graham Potter.

It has been a tough few weeks for Potter as his Chelsea side have been struggling.

The Blues are currently on their worst run of form since 1966 after collecting just six points in their last nine league games.

Despite only taking over from Thomas Tuchel in September, Potter could be shown the exit door soon if Chelsea continue to underperform.

According to German news outlet Bild, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is eyeing up Frankfurt boss Glasner.

The Austrian led Frankfurt to Europa League glory last season after beating Scottish side Rangers on penalties in the final, whilst also beating the likes of West Ham and Barcelona on the way.

Glasner also led Frankfurt to a fourth-place finish in the Bundesliga and are still in the Champions League and the German FA Cup this season.

The 48-year-old has also previously stated that he is willing to move on to a bigger club.

He said: “I could say I’ll stay at Frankfurt come what may.

“But an exceptional offer could come in, and the club might say ‘Oliver, take it.’

“It is not on my mind, but my situation is the same as that for any player – it’s the law of the market that decides.”

He said: “It’s really frustrating, it’s incredibly challenging, it’s a tough moment, I feel for the supporters.

“We’re disappointed to lose tonight I thought it was a relatively even game in the first half.”

Potter added: “We had a couple of good chances, but I think the basics we can do a little bit better in terms of our defending and our football actions.

“At the same time we get back in the game and then the red card, it’s where we’re at at the moment where things can happen for us.”

Chelsea will now face Crystal Palace on Sunday in what will be a must-win game for Potter.
