Bukayo Saka had the most hilarious miss of his young career, as he gave a fan watching in his flat a hell of a shock, during Arsenal’s Europa League game.
It’s been a hell of a start to the season for Saka, as his stock continues to rise for both Arsenal and England, at just 21 years of age.
On Thursday night, he was once again the match winner, as Mikel Arteta’s team faced Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
It wasn’t a particularly exciting performance from the visitors, who had to get used to playing on an artificial pitch, and even the winner had to come off Saka’s lips.
However the forward had another chance in the first half, which he ballooned, not just over the bar, but into one of the flats behind the goal.
One fan was sat in his flat, trying to enjoy the game in the perfect setting, when the ball bounced off his window frame and nearly smashed into him.
“He’s just chilling in his home eating dinner and Bukayo Saka blasts a ball into his shit, Europa League is the funniest sh*t man,” one fans said on social media.
“Saka’s shot heading towards a man just chilling in his flat…Only the Europa League,” a second added, whilst laughing at the situation.
The main topic was just how ‘Europa League’ the whole situation was, and a third added, “As if Saka nearly put the ball through a window and into someone’s flat. What is this tournament?”
Saka was pretty lucky with his effort that did go in, and confirmed later that the ball didn’t come off his chest when it bounced back to him.
Speaking to BT Sport, the forward said, “I think it came off my lips!”
The hosts were pretty unlucky not to get something out of the game themselves, as they put plenty of pressure on and had enough shots to worry Arteta.
Saka felt no sympathy towards their inability to score however, saying, “This is football, if you don’t score you get punished.
“We’ve had games like that and we’ve left the game feeling quite hard done by, but you quickly learn this is football.
“It was quite end-to-end, it was quite difficult. I feel like they were on us for quite a big period, especially in the second half.
“They did well. That’s why it’s extra nice for us to leave here with three points because we know how difficult it was out there.”
