Liverpool forward Luis Diaz is set to miss most of the rest of the year out injured, following the team’s controversial loss to Arsenal at the weekend.

Diaz has been in fine form for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season, one of the few players who can claim that, continuing his excellent start to life in the Premier League, after joining back in January.

The forward has three goals and two assists in the league so far this campaign, including setting up Darwin Nunez on Sunday, against Arsenal.

However, he limped off before half time, replaced by Roberto Firmino, having earlier taken a knock in a challenge by Thomas Partey.

According to James Pearce, as well as reports in Colombia, the former Porto star is now set to miss the next six to eight weeks for the Reds.

That will take him beyond November 13th, even at his earliest return, the final game of the campaign before the break for the World Cup.

With Diaz and Colombia having failed to qualify for the tournament in Qatar, it means he won’t play again until the Boxing Day fixture against Aston Villa, at the earliest.
