Two-time boxing world champion Billy Dib has been in some pretty tough fights throughout his life – but none tougher than this one right here.

Just four months go, he received the heartbreaking news that he had cancer.

But incredibly, the Australian boxing champion has shared some heartwarming news with the world.

Dib, a former IBF featherweight and IBO super-featherweight world champ, has announced that he is officially in remission following his diagnosis in late 2022.

Taking to Twitter, the Aussie said: “AlhamdAllah (thanks to God), I received the most beautiful news today.

“My scan came back clear of cancer. I am so grateful, blessed, happy and relieved.

“Thank you God, my health team, my family and all of you, for your prayers, encouragement and support to help me get here.”

Alongside with the tweet was a cute video of Dib’s son celebrating while holding up a banner which read: “Guys, my Dad is in remission.”

A bunch of fans and sports stars alike flocked to the comments section of his post to share some love.

Fellow boxer and current IBF world champ Ebanie Bridges said: “Amazing! Your positivity and fighting spirit was incredible and this makes me so happy.”

Former WBA world champion Andrew Moloney added: “Amazing news Billy! Congratulations!!”

Meanwhile, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn replied: “That is the greatest news Billy!”

It’s understood Dib initially had a stomach tumour removed.

But reports from Nine’s Wide World of Sports claim he was rushed back to hospital and diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s, Burkitt lymphoma cancer.

Just last week, Dib told A Current Affair: “This is an invisible opponent… that I can’t see”.

“I’m determined to beat this invisible opponent because I’m determined to walk my son to school in a couple years time.”

And beat it he did.
