Arsenal are lining up a move for Manchester United talisman Marcus Rashford, a fresh report has claimed.
Arsenal’s success this season has partly been down to the club’s youthful three-pronged attack of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus. Moreover, since the latter’s injury sustained at the World Cup, Eddie Nketiah has stepped up to provide crucial goals.
Yet, despite their attacking riches, it is no secret that Arsenal have been in the market for another winger since the summer window.
Indeed the north Londoners were in hot pursuit of Ukrainian wide-man Mykhailo Mudryk last month, only for the deal to be hijacked by Todd Boehly’s Chelsea.
However, it now appears that Arsenal have turned their attention to another Premier League attacker – Rashford.
Marcus Rashford to Arsenal?
According to Football Insider Arsenal are monitoring the situation of United star Rashford, amid uncertainty over the 25-year-old’s contract.
The United attacker was reportedly on the Gunners’ radar last year, with Arteta registering an interest with the player’s representatives. Indeed, Football Insider claim the Arsenal boss is a “huge fan” of the England international.
While the Red Devils triggered a one-year extension in Rashford’s deal, he is still only contracted at Old Trafford until 2024.
Though United reportedly have no intention of selling, Arsenal remain interested in securing the player’s services.
Rashford has been in the best form of his career this term, having notched 21 goals and eight assists in 34 appearances. Indeed, since the resumption of the Premier League after the Qatar World Cup the forward has netted 13 goals in 15 games.
Such electric form comes after a dismal campaign in which the forward netted just five goals in 32 appearances.
