Arsenal fans have ruthlessly slammed Sead Kolasinac after he missed a gilt-edged chance to knock Tottenham out of the Champions League.

Marseille opened the scoring on Tuesday when Chancel Mbemba Mangulu headed home just before the break.

Clement Lenglet leveled proceedings in the 54th minute, with ex-Arsenal defender Kolasinac having a great opportunity to put his side back in front in the 87th minute.

But the Bosnian fluffed his lines in front of goal as he headed wide to the delight of Spurs and their fans.

However, Arsenal supporters online didn’t take too kindly to their former player’s header as they bemoaned his missed effort.

One Arsenal fan wrote: “Kolasinac could’ve won the match there. That’s a brutal miss.”

A second tweeted: “Kolasinac has blood on his hands for this but fair enough.”

A third added: “How is Kolasinac still torturing Arsenal fans years after leaving man.”

Another commented: “As if Kolasinac was gifted the golden chance to knock Spurs out of the CL and failed… miserably.”

Kolasinac’s missed chance proved extremely crucial as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored a stunner deep, deep into injury time to make it 2-1.

As a result, Marseille finished bottom of Group D and will play the remainder of the season without European football.

Spurs, meanwhile, secure a spot in the next round of the competition as group winners.

Kolasinac could have dumped Spurs out of the Champions League. Instead, Antonio Conte’s side will in the Champions League knockout stage while Marseille won’t even in the Europa League.
