Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale managed to bag a signed Cristiano Ronaldo shirt after last season’s clash against Manchester United. Do you reckon Bukayo Saka might have been a tad jealous, here?

Back in April, goals from Nuno Tavares, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka helped Mikel Arteta’s side secure an impressive 3-1 win against an underperforming United side.

Cristiano Ronaldo managed to pull one back after Arsenal went 2-0 ahead after half an hour, but a cracking 25-yard strike from Swiss international Xhaka put the game to bed.

Four months on and fans are looking back at the game thanks to Arsenal’s All or Nothing documentary on Amazon Prime.

And a great moment from Arsenal’s physio room featuring Ramsdale and Saka has become a big talking point online.

As you can see in the footage above, goalkeeper Ramsdale walks in, proudly holding a signed Ronaldo shirt.

Saka, looking a little envious of his teammate’s capture as he sits on the physio bench, then calls Ramsdale out for lying. “Good joke mate,” he says.

But the England international shows Saka the signed jersey before leaving with his arm aloft.

Ramsdale wasn’t the only player to ‘ask’ for Ronaldo’s jersey last season.

Back in April, following United’s clash against Chelsea, fans were convinced Reece James asked the five-time Ballon d’Or winner for his shirt during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, who notched his 17th Premier League of the campaign to cancel out Marcos Alonso’s strike, appeared to tell James, “Yeah, no problem.”

James has revealed his admiration for Ronaldo in the past. In a recent Twitter Q&A, he was asked, “If you could play alongside one player in all of football history?”

The 22-year-old replied, “Cristiano Ronaldo. Even as a Chelsea man, I have always looked up to him and idolised him. He has won so many trophies and so many honours.”

The universal pull of Cristiano Ronaldo is real, even amongst opposition players.
